Here are some more foods that fight belly fat (read: love handles) that you can add to your diet:

Low-fat Yogurt – yogurt is rich in calcium and protein. It’s a perfect afternoon snack and if you buy Greek yogurt, it has more protein than regular yogurt. Buy plain yogurt and add berries to it for a perfect snack. Beware; flavored yogurt usually has high fructose corn syrup, which can add fat!

Nuts – Almonds, pistachios, and even walnuts or pecans are a wonderful source of protein and fiber. Almost any nuts will do the trick, but the ones above are particularly phenomenal.

Tuna fish – Tuna is a fatty fish like salmon, trout, and mackerel. Combine it with a salad or some whole wheat bread for a healthy lunch or dinner.

Eggs – Egg whites are a perfect lean protein – low in fat, easily digestible. Scramble with bell pepper and onion for a healthy breakfast or make yourself a mostly egg white omelet with 2% pepper cheese and some salsa. I usually use one yolk with my omelets and I swear they rival a 2am run to IHOP.

Bison (or any lean red meat) – Red meat is high in protein but it’s also usually high in saturated fat. Bison is a lean source of red meat and a great substitution for beef when you’re craving a little red meat. Deer meat is also very lean and deer sausage is legit.

Another easy way to lose weight is to cut out refined sugars from your diet. Refined sugars are running rampant in our foods and they can wreck even your most sincere fat loss goals. Refined sugars are found in everything from soft drinks to ketchup.

A couple of good rules of thumb to avoid refined sugars:

  • Avoid soft drinks (diet drinks are better but try to limit them)
  • Avoid fruit juice (actually has more sugar than soft drinks)
  • Check the labels of items for the ingredients “sugars” or “high fructose corn syrup”. If it has these, be careful.
  • Avoid sweets except on your free day

Avoid refined sugars and instead add some of these foods listed above that torch abdominal fat, and kiss belly fat goodbye ;-)

What you put into your body is critical in getting rid of love handles. Eat foods that burn fat and watch your love handles disappear. Remember, what you eat is 80% of the battle.
