How to Lose 10 pounds in month…Or less.

This article will give you four steps you must take to lose 10 pounds quickly.

Naturally, my first question would be “How fast will this occur?”

The answer, like so many things with fat loss, is it depends.

I managed to lose 10 pounds over the holidays last year in less than a month. But that was really my last 10 pounds I needed to lose to get really lean.

If you have only 10 pounds to lose, it could take a month of following these four steps. If you have 100 pounds to lose, it could possibly be done in a week.

The key is to not get hung up on how fast you will do it. After all, these steps will allow you to lose the 10 pounds very fast while improving your health. Here is a short video from a registered dietitian discussing why this works.

So without further rambling, here are the four things:

1. Eliminate processed sugars

This one step is huge. Processed sugars are everywhere in our society. Soft drinks, candy, cookies, salad dressings, latte, fruit juice (really). Pretty much anything sweet that has any substance at all has the risk of having processed sugars.

Eliminating processed sugars alone has caused many people to lose 10 pounds, even without has caused many people to lose 10 pounds, even without exercises.

2. Don’t drink calories

This pretty much goes along with number one, but this is an easy step to eliminate extra weight.

Avoid “empty” calories that come from the following: Soft drinks, fruit juice, beer, wine, liquor, coffee houses. They are referred to as empty because they don’t fill you up…except beer I guess (but this causes midnight runs to Taco Bell).

Again, this is critical to losing 10 pounds fast. If you must drink soft drinks (and I still do), switch to diet drinks. We will all die together from the aspartame but at least we will be skinny ;-)

3. Cardio Interval Training

Cardio interval training burns massive calories in a short period of time. It is much more effective at releasing fat than regular, boring, walking-on-the-treadmill cardio.

How do you do cardio interval training?

This is a sample of the cardio interval training workout that I used to burn 18 pounds in 90 days.

Warm-up: 8 minutes easy jog

Interval: 30 seconds sprint followed by 2 minutes medium jog (repeat 3x)

Cool-down: 5-10 minutes easy jog

*Consult your physician before trying this as it is high intensity.

This workout takes about 20 minutes (depending on the warm-up and cool-down) and will get you in shape, burn calories, and get your legs toned. It also kills the last 10 pounds.

I did this workout 3x per week and did a weight training circuit the other 3 days. You can do it more or less depending on your needs, but it is a good idea to mix weight training in also.

4. Eat fewer calories than you burn

This is a strategy that will help you lose as much weight as you want. This is also the best strategy for keeping the weight off.

I have used this strategy to keep the 18 pounds I lost (now about 22 pounds) off for almost two years now. You can absolutely do this too.

If you apply these four steps, you will lose 10 pounds. It may be in a week, it may take a month, but it will come off.

This is simply the most effective strategy I have used (and I have tried many different programs) to drop weight fast and healthy.
